In a massive attack on Israel, Iran launched a barrage of ballistic missiles on late Tuesday night. Visuals emerged of the Israeli iron dome defence system neutralising most missiles. Unconfirmed reports of some missiles making contact at the ground with explosions being heard across the capital city of Tel Aviv were also received.
Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa were the major cities that the missiles had targeted.
Earlier during the day, the United States had warned Iran against intervening in the Israel-Lebanon conflict, however, the Middle Eastern nation has not paid heed to the same.
The attacks targeted three Israeli intelligence and military bases, sources said.
The missile attack comes days after Hezbollah chief Nasrallah was killed in precision Israeli strikes.
Videos showed missile sirens being sounded out across Tel Aviv.
