Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that Tehran was not conducting any clandestine nuclear activity at any of the three bombed facilities in June.

He said Tehran had stopped enriching Uranium after consultations with the Iranian leadership and its allies. The latest statement by the top negotiator is seen as a sign that Iran is willing to resume negotiations about its nuclear programme, which remains a massive issue between the country and the US, UK, France, Germany and Israel.

Araghchi’s statement came a few hours after the Russian President and the Israeli Prime Minister discussed Iran’s nuclear programme and days after US media outlets claimed that Tehran was enriching uranium at any of the facilities near Natanz.

"There is no enrichment right now because our facilities, our enrichment facilities, have been attacked," Araghchi said. Asked what it would take for Iran to resume negotiations with the US and other negotiators, he replied that Iran's message on its nuclear programme remains "clear".

"Iran's right to enrichment for peaceful use of nuclear technology, including enrichment, is undeniable," the foreign minister said.

"We have this right, and we continue to exercise it, and we hope that the international community, including the United States, recognises our rights and understands that this is an inalienable right of Iran," he added. "We would never give up our rights,” he added.

While EU nations had been a little more lenient with Tehran, in September, they also imposed "snap-back" sanctions on Iran for its non-compliance. The IAEA's Board of Governors is likely to meet this week and may vote on a new resolution targeting Iran over its failure to cooperate fully with the agency.
