Tensions between Iran and Israel have reached a boiling point, with both sides issuing threats of retaliation following a recent attack by Iran. Israel’s military chief, Herzi Halevi, affirmed that the country is prepared to respond to Iran’s aggression, while Iran has warned of deploying "weapons never used before" if Israel strikes back.

 

Iran's unprecedented attack on Israel, which occurred on April 13, marked the first direct assault by Iran on its arch-foe. The attack, consisting of over 300 missiles and drones, was in retaliation for an airstrike on Tehran’s consulate building in Damascus earlier in April, an incident widely attributed to Israel.

In response to the situation, the Group of Seven (G7) nations, led by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, is reportedly working on a coordinated response to Iran's actions. Additionally, China and Russia have urged for restraint, emphasising the importance of avoiding further escalation in the region.

 

As tensions remain high, Israel has lifted some emergency measures previously implemented, including restrictions on school activities and large gatherings. However, the country remains on alert as the situation continues to unfold.
