Brigadier General of the Iranian armed forces Abolfazl Shekarchi has vowed a fierce retaliation against the US-aided Israeli strikes on six targets inside Tehran during the intervening night of 12-13 June. The general said the Zionist regime will pay a heavy price for these attacks. The Israeli regime began military strikes in and near the Iranian capital, Tehran, as well as other cities in Iran, overnight on Friday.

Images showed damaged residential buildings in several locations in the capital. Eyewitnesses and reporters from the state TV said they saw the bodies of women and children among the victims.

Shortly after Israel struck locations in Tehran and other cities, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a message, said that the Zionist regime should await a harsh punishment. Which means Iran will respond to the attack at their time and place of choosing. "To the Great Iranian Nation!” the Leader’s message began, “the Zionist regime carried out with its evil and bloody hand a crime in our dear country and revealed its wicked nature further by hitting residential areas.”

“The regime should await a harsh response,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The leader said several scientists linked to Iran’s nuclear program and military commanders were assassinated in the strikes that Netanyahu and his war cabinet were luring the United States into. “Their successors and colleagues will immediately pick up their work.”

“With this crime, the Zionist regime sealed for itself a bitter and painful destiny and will definitely see that [destiny] brought upon it,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

This comes just two days after US President Donald Trump ordered a partial withdrawal of US citizens and armed forces stationed in the Middle Eastern countries.

Earlier this week, Iranian armed forces said that they extracted several classified documents linked to “Israel’s nuclear sites and research program” that they believe were going to help them in building a plan of action against striking and taking down Israeli nuclear sites.

It will be interesting to see if Iran strikes back at the nuclear facilities in Israel after extracting several classified documents.
