The tit-for-tat military exchanges between Iran, Israel, and the United States continued as the Middle East war entered its second week, with no signs of de-escalation. At least 33 people were injured after Iran fired its latest wave of missile salvos accompanied by dozens of kamikaze drones on Friday, officials confirmed.
While no fatalities were reported in northern Israel, one woman suffered moderate injuries, and most others sustained light injuries in the aftermath of the Iranian retaliation.
Air raid sirens sounded across northern Israel at 2:30 a.m. local time (00:30 GMT), marking part of a broader night of alerts.
The Israeli military reported multiple launches from Iran and rocket fire from Hezbollah positions north of the border in Lebanon.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced its 44th wave of attacks against Israeli and US forces in the region. The IRGC stated it targeted locations in the “north of the occupied territories”—including the Israeli cities of Kiryat Shmona, Hadera, and Haifa—as well as US bases and the US Fifth Fleet.
In Lebanon, at least six people were killed after Israeli forces carried out double-tap strikes in Beirut—two consecutive strikes at the same location—targeting aid and rescue workers in an apparent bid to maximise casualties.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella group of Iran-backed armed factions, claimed responsibility for downing a US KC-135 refuelling aircraft in western Iraq.
In a statement posted to its official Telegram channel, the group asserted that its fighters used air defence systems to bring down the aircraft, causing it to crash.
