The director of Kamal Adwan Hospital on Friday said that at least 50 people have been killed in the latest Israeli airstrikes in Gaza.
He said among the 50 killed, five medical staffers have lost their lives in the fresh airstrike on a building near the hospital in Northern Gaza.
Israel attacked a house overnight in Gaza City, killing at least nine people, reports said.
Reports suggest that a fourth Palestinian child has died due to extreme conditions in Gaza over the past 72 hours, as hundreds of thousands of people displaced as a result of the ongoing conflict struggle to keep warm in fragile tents.
The strikes, as per the Israeli military, were conducted to destroy the remaining pockets of the resistance in Gaza.
However, there was no confirmation of the number of Hamas members killed in the airstrikes apart from those confirmed by the Palestinian Health Ministry.
Meanwhile, the head of the United Nations World Health Organisation (WHO) was at Yemen’s Sanaa airport when Israeli warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes around the various compounds. The strikes resulted in the deaths of at least six people.
The death toll from Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza has already crossed 45,399 Palestinians and wounded 107,940 since October 7, 2023.
At least 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks that day, and more than 200 were taken captive, out of which less than 100 remain captive in Gaza.
