Israeli security forces demolished the home of Fadi Jamjoom in eastern Jerusalem, who perpetrated a terror attack in February resulting in the deaths of two Israelis.
Jamjoom opened fire at a bus stop, killing Yishai Gartner and Ori Yaish, while injuring four others. He was subsequently shot and killed by an off-duty reserve soldier.
Following the attack, police arrested Jamjoom's 39-year-old brother for illegally purchasing the firearm used in the attack and providing it to him.
The demolition of Jamjoom's home is part of Israel's policy of punitive measures against terrorists and their families. This action aims to deter future attacks and send a message of deterrence to potential perpetrators.
Israeli security forces have been vigilant in apprehending suspects involved in terrorism, with over 4,000 Palestinian terror suspects arrested in Judea and Samaria since October 7. Among them, approximately 1,700 individuals have ties to Hamas, the militant group governing the Gaza Strip.
The demolition of terrorists' homes is a contentious issue, with critics arguing that it amounts to collective punishment and violates international law. However, Israeli authorities defend the practice as a necessary measure to prevent further violence and protect Israeli citizens.
