Israeli forces kill 78 in Gaza, amid deepening hunger crisis

On Monday evening, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei dropped a bombshell, saying Hamas has not only regained its strength but also has amassed 5 times the number of fighters it had before October 7.

The figures of those killed near the GHF aid distribution centres have risen to 838, according to the government-run media office in Gaza.

As many as 78 Palestinians, including aid seekers, have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza in the past 24 hours amid a deepening hunger and starvation crisis. The attacks continued throughout Monday after the Israeli and Hamas negotiators confirmed no progress in the ceasefire over two main sticking points, “the free flow of aid and withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territory.”

On Monday evening, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei dropped a bombshell, saying Hamas has not only regained its strength but also has amassed 5 times the number of fighters it had before October 7.

He said Hamas has "40,000 to 200,000" fighters in Gaza, the majority of whom are now fighting against the Israeli invasion, adding that claims of the Israeli government fall flat when they say they inflicted heavy damage on the group.

Meanwhile, the figures of those killed near the GHF aid distribution centres have risen to 838, according to the government-run media office in Gaza.

“Mediators are actively exploring innovative mechanisms to bridge the remaining gaps and maintain momentum in the negotiations,” reports citing sources said.

Further negotiators from Hamas have accused the Israeli prime minister of sabotaging the deal with fake plays of words to amuse the Israeli protesters.

“Netanyahu is skilled at sabotaging one round of negotiations after another and is unwilling to reach any agreement,” the group wrote on a social media platform.

The Netanyahu government is under immense pressure to end the war in Gaza in exchange for the captives currently being held in Hamas captivity. He also faces backlash over the feasibility and ethics of a plan to build a so-called “humanitarian city” from scratch on the ruins of southern Gaza’s Rafah to house 600,000 Palestinians if and when a ceasefire takes place.
