Tanner Fox, the killer of 1985 Kanishka plane bombing suspect Ripudaman Singh Malik, has been handed a second prison sentence in connection with a separate killing.
The 25-year-old, who was once acquitted in Canada's deadliest terror attack case, was sentenced to an additional 15 years for the manslaughter of 41-year-old Chad Colivas.
Colivas was shot three times inside his Abbotsford home on March 21, 2022.
Colivas was killed during a break-in in which Fox and his accomplice, Laetitia Acera, had reportedly tried to steal drugs, money and jewellery from Colivas's 17-year-old nephew.
Justice Catherine Murray presided over the hearing at the B.C. Supreme Court on Wednesday, accepting a joint sentencing submission from the Crown and defence.
Fox's name came into the spotlight after he was arrested for the murder of 75-year-old Ripudaman Singh Malik, who was shot outside his business in Surrey on July 22.
Malik was one of two men acquitted in 2005 of charges related to the 1985 bombing of Air India Flight 182, also known as the Kanishka bombing, which killed 329 people. It remains the deadliest bombing of a commercial aircraft in history.
Fox was initially charged with first-degree murder in Malik's case along with Jose Lopez. Both later pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
