On Monday, Iranian state media responded to the threats by mocking Donald Trump with a post from Mojtaba Khamenei’s social media account stating that “We lost the keys to it,” meaning Iran was not going to open the Strait of Hormuz.

US President Donald Trump has issued another ultimatum to Iran over the Strait of Hormuz, threatening complete demolition of its energy and desalination plants within hours if the strait is not fully restored by Tuesday.

On Sunday, Trump had set a 48-hour deadline for Iran to open the strait for the US and ships linked to its allies.

The global community is on edge, especially Middle Eastern nations caught in the middle of the US-Israel and Iran war.

Uncertainties in the region have largely resulted from US and Israeli actions, targeting Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Gaza simultaneously.

Meanwhile, in the latest series of retaliatory strikes, Iran struck Israel’s Haifa port, killing four people, while Israeli attacks killed 34 people.

Simultaneous strikes also killed 10 people in Gaza near a school sheltering displaced Palestinians in central Gaza.

Besides, Iran has intensified its peace efforts and communicated its plans to intermediaries, while US President Trump claimed that Iran’s response to the US peace proposal, conveyed through the same intermediaries, is “significant” but “not good enough”.

Iran’s military says Trump’s threats are “delusional” and cannot make up for the “disgrace and humiliation” of the US in the region, according to a statement in Iranian media.
