Police and emergency personnel respond to the scene of a mass shooting outside Amazura nightclub in Queens, New York.

A mass shooting at Amazura nightclub in Queens, New York on January 1 has left at least 10 people injured.

According to reports, the incident occurred at around 11:18 PM, when multiple shots were fired by a group of assailants.

A New York Police Department (NYPD) executive, addressing the media, expressed outrage over the incident, stating, “There is zero tolerance for these senseless shootings. It is a horrible act of violence on our streets, and those responsible for this crime will be apprehended and brought to justice.”

Initial investigations revealed that approximately 90 people were inside the venue at the time, with a queue of 15 people outside waiting to enter. The gunmen, believed to be three to four men, opened fire more than 30 times towards a group standing outside, striking several victims.

Officers responding to 911 calls found a total of 10 victims, including six males and four females. The victims were swiftly taken to nearby hospitals, with all expected to recover from non-life-threatening injuries, according to the NYPD executive.

Footage shared on the Citizen App showed a heavy police and ambulance presence outside the venue. Amazura, a large nightclub with a capacity of up to 4,000 people, is well-known for hosting live events and DJ performances.

The incident occurred just hours before a separate, deadly attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day, where a vehicle rammed into a crowd, killing 15 and injuring more than 30.

Police exchanged gunfire with the suspect, 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar, who was fatally shot during the confrontation. Sources told the New York Times that the suspect’s actions led to the deadly shootout.

In a separate incident, a Tesla Cybertruck rented via Turo exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday, resulting in one death and seven injuries.

Authorities are investigating the possibility of terrorism in the case.
