A massive fire broke out late Friday night at the 67-storey Marina Pinnacle Tower in Dubai’s Marina area, according to a statement from the Dubai Media Office (DMO) issued on Saturday.
The fire prompted the evacuation of all 3,820 residents from the tower’s 764 apartments. Specialised emergency units conducted the evacuation operation, ensuring the safety of all occupants without any injuries reported. The blaze was brought under control after six hours of continuous effort by teams from Dubai Civil Defence, according to reports.
In a series of updates posted on social media platform X, the DMO highlighted the swift and coordinated response by emergency services. At 1:44 am on Saturday, the DMO stated, “Specialised teams successfully evacuated all residents from the 67-storey building, prioritising their health and safety throughout the operation. Efforts continue to fully contain the fire.”
Shortly afterward, at 2:09 am, the DMO added that ambulance and medical teams were present at the scene to provide both medical care and mental health support to the evacuated residents. At 2:21 am, the DMO confirmed that all 3,820 residents had been safely evacuated from the building, with no injuries reported during the operation.
Authorities are now coordinating with the building’s developer to secure temporary housing for the affected residents. The DMO emphasised that the ongoing focus remains on ensuring the safety and well-being of those displaced. This is not the first time the Marina Pinnacle, also known as Tiger Tower, has experienced a fire. In May 2015, a kitchen fire on the 47th floor spread to the 48th floor before being successfully contained by Dubai Civil Defence teams, reported.
