A devastating incident near Moscow last week has left a staggering number of people unaccounted for. According to reports from a Russian news outlet on Wednesday, as many as 95 individuals remain missing following an attack at Crocus City Hall, where gunmen indiscriminately fired upon concert attendees and ignited a fire within the venue.
The current official figures paint a grim picture, with 140 confirmed dead and 182 wounded as a result of the assault.
However, Baza news service, known for its reliable sources within Russian security and law enforcement, revealed that an additional 95 individuals had been reported missing through appeals made to emergency services by concerned relatives.
"These lists consist of individuals who have not been reachable since the terrorist attack, yet they are not accounted for among the wounded or deceased," Baza stated. "Some of these missing persons may have tragically perished but remain unidentified."
Russian investigators have disclosed that the attack was executed by a group of four assailants armed with Kalashnikov automatic weapons, with over 500 rounds recovered from the scene.
The gunfire erupted shortly before the Soviet-era rock group "Picnic" performance, with the venue packed with 6,200 attendees. As reported by Baza, surveillance footage reviewed by emergency service sources indicates that over 200 people may have been inside the engulfed building just moments before its roof collapsed.
In the wake of the tragedy, Russian social media platforms have been inundated with pleas for assistance in locating missing loved ones, reflecting the profound impact of this appalling act of violence.
