Tech billionaire Elon Musk joined a phone call between US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier this week, according to reports. Trump had called PM Modi on Tuesday to discuss the ongoing US war with Iran. This was the first reported interaction between the two leaders since the US and Israel began striking Iran on February 28.
According to White House sources, Elon Musk participated in the phone call with President Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi – an unusual appearance by a private citizen, and one of the world’s wealthiest individuals, on a call between two heads of state during a wartime crisis.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “President Trump has a great relationship with Prime Minister Modi, and this was a productive conversation.”
The reported participation of Musk has highlighted the improved relations between the US President and the world’s richest man.
Trump and Musk had a public falling out last year following the billionaire’s departure from the government, where he had been tasked with slashing the workforce.
Sources have not yet confirmed what Musk spoke about during the call with the two leaders.
The ongoing tensions between the US-Israel alliance and Iran have now completed one month, and it appears the war is likely to drag on for some time, with Tehran rejecting ceasefire calls from the US.
