NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte met with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump in Palm Beach, Florida, on Friday. According to a statement from NATO spokesperson Farah Dakhlallah, the two leaders discussed various global security issues affecting the alliance.
NATO's website also mentioned that Rutte and his team met with Congressman Mike Waltz, who is Trump’s choice for national security adviser, as well as other members of Trump’s national security team.
While NATO did not comment on Dutch media reports that Rutte flew to Florida on a Dutch government plane, it was noted that Rutte, who became NATO chief last month, had built a strong relationship with Trump during his first term as U.S. president from 2017 to 2021.
