Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday applauded US President Donald Trump’s decision to bomb three of Iran’s most critical nuclear sites, calling the strikes a “bold decision” that would alter the course of history.

In a video address delivered hours after the overnight assault, Netanyahu praised the American action as “unmatched” and commended Trump’s leadership for having “done what no other country on Earth could do”.

“President Trump and I often say: ‘Peace through strength.’ First comes strength, then comes peace. And tonight, Donald Trump and the United States acted with a lot of strength,” the Israeli leader declared.

The US military, following a direct order from President Trump, struck Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan nuclear sites using six bunker-buster bombs on Fordow and 30 Tomahawk missiles elsewhere, Trump told Fox News. He called the operation a “spectacular military success” in a televised Oval Office address.

Congratulating the US President, Netanyahu said: “Your bold decision to target Iran's nuclear facilities with the awesome and righteous might of the United States will change history.”

He continued, “In Operation Rising Lion, Israel has done truly amazing things, but in tonight's action against Iran's nuclear facilities, America has been unsurpassed—it has done what no other country on Earth could do.”

Netanyahu described the joint action as a “pivot of history” that he believes could lead the region towards “prosperity and peace”. He concluded his message with a declaration of enduring friendship: “God bless America. God bless Israel. May God bless our unshakeable alliance, our unbreakable faith.”

In a separate address to Israeli citizens, the Prime Minister declared that a prior pledge had been fulfilled: “I promised you Iran's nuclear facilities would be destroyed. This promise was fulfilled.”

President Trump, who had initially said he would wait two weeks before deciding on American involvement in the conflict, accelerated his decision following a week of sustained Israeli bombardment on Iranian military infrastructure.

“This is a HISTORIC MOMENT FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ISRAEL, AND THE WORLD. IRAN MUST NOW AGREE TO END THIS WAR,” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform.

The Iranian government has promised retaliation. Tehran’s nuclear agency, however, claimed there was no significant damage to the facilities and insisted its nuclear work would continue unabated.

According to the Washington-based Iran Human Rights Documentation Center, more than 600 people have died in Iran since Israel launched “Operation Rising Lion” last week. Iran has responded with more than 450 missiles and 1,000 drones, resulting in at least 24 deaths in Israel.
