Pakistani security forces killed six militants in an intelligence-based operation in the restive province of Balochistan, an official confirmed on Wednesday.
According to Counter Terrorism Department official Mehtab Rehmani, the militants—belonging to a banned outfit—were eliminated during a raid in the Kirdgab area of Mastung town on Tuesday.

Rehmani explained that the operation was launched following intelligence reports indicating that militants were hiding in the area and planning an attack.
Security forces subsequently sealed off the vicinity and carried out the operation, resulting in the deaths of six militants.
However, several others managed to flee into the surrounding mountainous terrain. Rehmani also noted that a significant cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the site.
