Pakistan fails to restore Murid air base hit during Op Sindoor

In the pre-dawn hours of May 10, 2025, the Indian Air Force carried out a masterclass in precision warfare. Between 2 am and 5 am, Murid was one of ten Pakistani airbases struck in a coordinated wave.

As suggested by the recent media reports, Pakistan has ‘failed’ to rebuild one of its most important command and control centre at Murid airbase near Chakwal, which was destroyed by the Indian Armed Forces during last year’s four-day military conflict between the neighbouring nations.

Recent satellite images shared by Vantor show the condition of the airbase. Nearly ten months after the May 2025 strike, the facility shows no signs of operational recovery. The image does not show any sign of rebuilding on the damaged infrastructure.

"Recent imagery now confirms the structure has been completely demolished. This development indicates the effects of the strike likely extended far beyond the roof and into deeper portions of the building's internal structure. The decision to dismantle the facility strongly suggests the airstrike triggered significant structural failure within the building (approximately 35x30 metres), ultimately rendering the site unsafe and unfit for repair," says satellite imagery analyst Damien Symon.

The mission at Murid was highly surgical, focusing on the complex responsible for controlling Pakistan’s UAV operations. By taking out the command-and-control node, the IAF essentially 'blinded' the opposition's drone surveillance.
