Two pilots were killed on Monday when a Pakistani army training aircraft crashed in Balochistan province, according to the military.
The PAC MFI-17 Mushshak aircraft went down near Nawan Killi in southwestern Pakistan. The military attributed the accident to a technical fault but did not provide further details.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed condolences to the families of the pilots.
Aircraft accidents during training missions are relatively frequent in Pakistan. Authorities rarely disclose detailed findings on such incidents, while investigation reports are generally not made public.
In June, an air force aircraft crashed during a routine training mission in northwestern Pakistan, resulting in the deaths of both pilots.
