In a significant development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a new social security agreement between India and Poland. This agreement aims to enhance the partnership between the two nations, particularly in the realms of new technology and clean energy. Modi's announcement came during his visit to Poland, where he addressed the Indian community in Warsaw.

The Prime Minister highlighted the deepening ties between India and Poland, noting that Poland will host the Kabaddi championship for the first time this year. Kabaddi, a popular sport in India, has become a bridge between the two countries, further strengthening their connection.

Modi emphasised that the new social security agreement would benefit Indian expatriates in Poland and improve bilateral relations. He underscored that both nations are focused on innovation and youth as drivers of development.

Prime Minister Modi also reiterated India's commitment to global values, referencing the ancient mantra of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," which translates to "the world is one family."

In his address, Modi praised the democratic values shared by India and Poland, noting the similarities in their democratic systems. He highlighted India's massive electoral process, which sees a higher turnout compared to European elections, as a testament to its vibrant democracy.

Additionally, Modi spoke about India's achievements and future goals, including efforts to eradicate poverty and enhance financial inclusion. He shared that in the past decade, 250 million people have been lifted out of poverty in India, and significant progress has been made in building affordable housing.

He also mentioned the success of digital financial inclusion initiatives, with 500 million Jan Dhan accounts opened and widespread use of digital payment systems.

The Prime Minister pointed out the rapid expansion of broadband access and the growth of electric vehicle sales in India. He outlined plans for further advancements, including the establishment of a space station and continued development in the fields of semiconductor technology and green energy.

Prime Minister Modi also discussed the shift in India's foreign policy, moving from a stance of distance to one of equal closeness with all nations. He expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received in Poland and acknowledged the contributions of the Indian community in supporting Indian students during the Ukraine crisis.

The visit marks a milestone as Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Poland in 45 years. His trip coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Poland. Modi's visit reflects the growing partnership between the two countries and the expanding scope of their collaboration.
