Russia's Defence Ministry announced that air defence systems destroyed 42 Ukrainian drones targeting five regions overnight.
The Oryol region saw the highest number of drones intercepted, with 20 destroyed, followed by eight each in the Rostov and Bryansk regions, five in the Kursk region, and one over Krasnodar Krai, according to a Telegram post by the ministry.
A drone attack in the Oryol region triggered a fire at a fuel facility in the village of Stalnoi Kon. Oryol Governor Andrei Klychkov reported that the fire was quickly localised and extinguished, avoiding casualties or significant damage.
This marks the second consecutive week of drone attacks on fuel infrastructure in the Oryol region.
Officials in the Rostov and Bryansk regions confirmed no casualties or damage in their areas following the drone strikes.
