Russia launched fresh strikes on Ukraine on Thursday night as Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with Hawkish US senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome.
The discussion was focused on strengthening Ukraine’s air defence capabilities against Russia’s constant Drone and missile attacks after the announcement of the latest offensive by Moscow. "Right now, our priority is strengthening air defences. Russia wants to move on to using 1,000 drones in the space of a single attack," Zelensky told reporters after discussing the situation with US senators.
Moscow has launched frequent daily attacks on Kyiv following the failure of recent direct negotiations between the two sides.
The Ukrainian forces reported multiple drone and ballistic missile attacks on northeastern and eastern Ukraine. United States President Donald Trump, who reportedly expressed his frustration over the lack of progress in the negotiations, said he will be announcing a “major statement” on Russia on Monday.

It added that “multiple groups of drones” struck Donetsk, while another had hit the Lyubotyn area of Kharkiv, a northeastern region near the Russian border. Besides, drone attacks were also reported in Mykolaiv and the Sumy region.
