Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure have left tens of thousands without electricity in the eastern parts of the country, officials said on Monday.

Ukraine responded by launching a drone attack on the Russian oil tanker in the Black Sea port.
According to regional authorities, Donetsk had been without power since Sunday after recent Russian attacks on energy infrastructure triggered a blackout.
Russian forces have recently intensified their operations in the Donetsk and Kupiansk regions in a bid to create a buffer zone deep inside Ukrainian territory.
Donetsk governor Vadym Filashkin said Russian attacks on energy infrastructure were not an isolated incident; Russian forces had carried out such attacks since the start of the war in 2022.
The claim could not be independently verified, as most of the eastern region of Donetsk is controlled by Russian troops.

Russian forces, in response to recent Ukrainian attacks on its energy infrastructure, have stepped up attacks on the Kyiv regime as winter approaches.
Ivan Fedorov, regional governor in the Zaporizhzhia region, said nearly 60,000 people were left without power after Russian airstrikes.
Besides, Russian drone attacks killed at least two people in the Odesa region, officials added.
Meanwhile, the Russian authorities on Monday confirmed that a Ukrainian drone had struck an oil tanker in the Black Sea port of Tuapse on Sunday.
Both sides have carried out attacks on each other’s energy infrastructure to increase pressure during winter, when the energy demand surges across both countries.
