The Thai Buddhist community has expressed profound appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his gracious gesture of sending sacred relics of Lord Buddha to Thailand, underscoring the deepening religious and cultural ties between the two nations. 

 

The esteemed members of the community lauded PM Modi's visionary leadership, which they believe has not only propelled India onto the global stage but also strengthened the historical bond shared between India and Thailand.

 

During a Sadhbhavana event organised by the Indian Minorities Foundation at the Embassy of India in Bangkok, prominent figures from the Indian diaspora in Thailand, including Member of Parliament Satnam Singh Sandhu and IMF co-founder Prof Himani Sood, gathered to commemorate the occasion. 

 

The event, themed "Role of Thai-Indian Community for Building a Resilient Indo-Pacific Future," underscored the pivotal role played by the Indian community in fostering bilateral relations and promoting regional stability.

 

Echoing sentiments of gratitude, representatives from various religious and cultural backgrounds, including Punjabis, Hindus, and Dawoodi Bohra Muslims, hailed PM Modi's initiatives for promoting peace, harmony, and inclusivity. 

 

They lauded PM Modi's commitment to the 'Look East' policy, emphasising the strategic significance of India's engagement with the Indo-Pacific region amidst geopolitical challenges.

 

Furthermore, the event witnessed discussions on PM Modi's transformative leadership, exemplified by initiatives such as the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and the resurgence of India's economy on the global stage. 

 

Participants commended PM Modi for his unwavering dedication to promoting Indian heritage and values, which have resonated deeply with the global Indian diaspora.

 

Dr. Chirapat Prapandvidya, Director of the Sanskrit Studies Centre at Silpakorn University in Thailand, expressed heartfelt gratitude to PM Modi for conferring the prestigious Padma Shree Award, recognizing his significant contributions to Sanskrit studies in Thailand. 

 

Dr. Prapandvidya highlighted the enduring cultural bonds between India and Thailand, emphasising the role of Sanskrit as a bridge connecting the two nations.

 

In addition to recognising PM Modi's contributions, attendees lauded India's emergence as a global leader under his stewardship, citing India's remarkable economic growth and diplomatic prowess. 

 

The Buddhist community expressed optimism for India's future trajectory under PM Modi's leadership, envisioning a harmonious and prosperous Indo-Pacific region bolstered by India's strategic engagement.
