Bangladesh's former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, along with her former cabinet ministers and aides, has had four more cases brought against her, bringing the total to 75, as reported on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, three of the cases were filed with Dhaka courts, while another murder case was filed in Bogura two days ago, according to the Daily Star newspaper.

This means that 76-year-old Hasina now faces 75 cases related to protests. These include 63 on murder charges, seven on allegations of crimes against humanity and genocide, three on charges of abduction, and two for other offences, according to the newspaper.

During the quota reform movement in the Banasree area of the capital on July 19, Hasina and 30 others were sued over the death of a grocery shop owner. The victim's father filed the murder case with the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Tofazzal Hossain, who instructed Khilgaon Police Station to register it as a first information report (FIR), the paper said.

The same court also instructed the officer in charge of the Khilgaon Police Station to register an FIR against Hasina and 26 others in a case related to the death of a 14-year-old on the same day.

The third case against Hasina and 50 others was related to the attempted murder of a lawyer from the Dhaka Bar Association during the students' quota reform protest on July 18, as reported by the paper.

In Bogura, a murder case was filed against Hasina, three local journalists, and 130 others. The victim, who was 35 years old, was shot and killed on August 4, a day before Hasina's removal.

Following unprecedented anti-government student-led protests against her government over a controversial job quota system, Hasina resigned and fled to India on August 5.
