A stabbing incident at a high school in Tacoma, Washington, left six people injured, including the suspect, according to police. Officers from the Tacoma Police Department responded to reports of a possible stabbing, and found four students and an adult security guard injured. The suspect, identified as a student, was taken into custody and was also injured, spokesperson Shelbie Boyd said.
All six individuals were transported to hospital, including the suspect, Boyd confirmed. Emergency crews from the Tacoma Fire Department arrived at Foss High School at around 1:38 pm following reports of the incident. Spokesperson Chelsea Shepherd said five victims were taken to local hospitals—four in critical condition and one with minor injuries.

A sixth injured individual, who was in police custody, was also hospitalised with minor injuries. By late afternoon, all six were reported to be in stable condition. Officials did not specify the exact nature of the injuries sustained.
“The school is secure, and we are continuing our investigation. Parents can pick up their children from the student parking lot, where a reunification area has been set up,” Boyd said. The school was placed under lockdown at 1:38 pm, with students safely dismissed by 2:45 pm, according to Tacoma Public Schools. All school and after-school activities for Friday were cancelled.
Authorities said the school will reopen on Monday, with counsellors available to support students and staff. “We are grateful for the quick and composed response of our staff and first responders,” the district said in a statement.
