India Strengthens Global Position at 'Heimtextil 2025' Exhibition.

The textile industry of India took centre stage at the global platform as the Honourable Minister of Textiles inaugurated the India Pavilion at Heimtextil 2025 in Frankfurt, Germany.

Held at Messe Frankfurt, Heimtextil is one of the most prestigious global trade fairs for home textiles, and India’s participation this year was the largest from any country.

The event marked a significant milestone for India’s textile sector, underscoring its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and fostering international partnerships.

In his inaugural speech, the Minister addressed a diverse audience comprising global home textile exporters, importers, and manufacturers. He highlighted India’s growing competitiveness in the textile sector, emphasizing the importance of collaboration to achieve sustainable growth.

India’s expanding textile ecosystem, he noted, offers exciting prospects for global partnerships. Furthermore, he invited the international community to attend Bharat Tex 2025, an event that will further explore investment opportunities in India’s textile industry.

The Minister also participated in an Investors’ Meet with textile and machinery manufacturers, where he presented India’s impressive growth story over the past decade. He pointed out the rise in foreign direct investment (FDI) in India, highlighting the success of the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

This initiative, according to the Minister, has been a driving force behind India’s emergence as a competitive manufacturing hub.

With a strong emphasis on the opportunities in India’s market, he urged international investors to act swiftly, warning that staying out of India’s expanding market could lead to missing out on significant opportunities. His message was clear: "Come and invest in India – Make in India, Make for the World."

During his visit, the Minister also engaged with key industry players. On the sidelines of Heimtextil, he met with representatives from the Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers Association and the IVGT of Germany.

He called for stronger engagement between German manufacturers and India’s textile sector, noting that India is one of the world’s largest buyers of textile machinery.

The Minister pointed out that Indian investment in manufacturing machinery would benefit both nations, citing the example of a German sewing thread manufacturer that has found success in India.

Encouraging other German machinery manufacturers to explore the Indian market, he stressed that such investments would create a win-win situation for both India and Germany.

The Indian government has been proactive in supporting its exporters to enhance their global presence by participating in prestigious international events like Heimtextil. This support helps Indian exporters increase their visibility on the global stage and grow in competitive markets.

The Minister’s visit to the event reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the Indian textile industry’s global aspirations.

As part of his visit, the Minister toured various exhibition stalls at the fair, engaging with exhibitors to gain insights into the latest trends and innovations in home textiles.

The craftsmanship displayed by Indian exporters at the event served as a testament to India’s potential and the country’s growing reputation in the textile sector.

The Minister’s visit not only highlighted the industry’s strength but also sent a clear message about India’s determination to solidify its position as a global leader in the textile market.

The event also saw active participation from other key members of the Indian delegation, including Mr. Rohit Kansal, the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles, and the Consul General of India in Germany.

Several officials from the Ministry, along with representatives from five Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) and the Jute Board, were present to showcase a wide array of products and innovations.

This diverse representation reflected India’s multifaceted approach to the textile industry, demonstrating its broad capabilities in various sectors of the textile trade.
