Trump claims ceasefire between Iran-Israel, Tehran denies

Addressing to X, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said that there is "no agreement as of now."

While US President Donald Trump says a ceasefire has been reached between Iran and Israel on Monday, Tehran denied the assertion. Iran claimed that it never received any ceasefire offer from the US calling for a truce. Israel, meanwhile, remained mum regarding the ceasefire allegation and has yet to comment on its application.

Addressing to X, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said that there is "no agreement as of now."

"As of today, NO "agreement" for a ceasefire or halt in military operations has been reached. But if the Israeli regime would but desist from its illegal aggression against the Iranian nation no later than 4 am Tehran time, we have no desire to continue our response thereafter. The ultimate decision regarding the halt in our military operations will be taken later," he said.

Although Israeli officials said Israel is on board with the ceasefire, an official response from the nation is expected. According to the media, Israeli officials said prime minister Netanyahu is on board with Trump's ceasefire proposal on the condition that "Iran vows to cease its missile attacks."

According to a report, the Israeli army refused to comment on Trump's announcement and the Israeli PM's office remains silent so far. Hours after Iran shelled a US base close to Doha, US President Donald Trump switched to Truth Social and declared a ceasefire.

The US president said that the ceasefire will take effect within 24 hours.

"CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED! Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World," Trump wrote on Truth Social. Trump made his comments after Iran fired missiles at the al-Udeid Air Base, where the US operates. Trump and Qatar announced that no casualties or injuries were reported from the attack.
