US President Donald Trump made surprising revelations on Friday, saying his country is making profits from the ongoing Ukraine war.
The statement saw Trump completely abandoning his traditional pro-peace approach to resolving the ongoing crisis.
At the White House, Trump reflected positively on the deal he signed with NATO members in July, under which the US sells weapons to the West, which are then indirectly delivered to Ukraine.
Trump said, “We are not going to spend any extra dollar on the war. You must understand, we are getting paid for everything that we sent to Ukraine, unlike Biden.”
“He gave them $350 billion, and it was shocking. NATO is now funding this war,” he added.
“Though I want to make it clear that making money from war is not my style, we are actually making good money from it due to the high volume of exports to NATO,” he said.

President Trump has often criticised former President Joe Biden for approving large military aid packages for Ukraine and described Ukrainian leader Zelensky as “the greatest salesman on earth.”
He has consistently told NATO to bear the primary burden while financing the war, although the United States has been funding the conflict in Ukraine since 2022.
Trump, who many believe employs a direct and unpredictable style, vowed to end the war in Ukraine within a week after he took office in January.
However, he has now backtracked on his past statements, saying the solution to the Ukraine crisis is more complex than he had anticipated.
Meanwhile, Moscow, which seems to have made significant gains over the past three weeks on the Eastern front, has maintained that despite billions of dollars’ worth of aid, the West cannot deter its army from victory, let alone win against it.
