US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are greeted by Britain's Prince William, Prince of Wales and Britain's Catherine, Princess of Wales, upon their arrival at the grounds of Windsor Castle, in Windsor, on Wednesday, for the start of a second State Visit.

The UK’s royal family gave United States President Donald Trump a grandiose honour during his second state visit to the country in nine months.

Trump becomes the first American president in history to have two state visits while in office. Trump and first lady Melania were welcomed by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle. The royal family hosted a lavish state banquet for Trump at the ancient castle outside London.

King Charles hailed the close ties between the two nations in his speech as he said, “In both world wars, we fought together to defeat the forces of tyranny.” Today, Tyranny once again threatens Europe; we and our allies stand together in support of Ukraine to deter aggression,” Charles said.

Trump expressed his gratitude and said, “This is truly one of the highest honours of my life.” Trump praised the cordial relations between the two countries. He further said, "The bond of kinship and identity between America and the United Kingdom is priceless and eternal. It's irreplaceable."

An estimated 160 guests were present at the royal dinner, including high-profile dignitaries like British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. However, protesters took to the streets in London and protested against the visit of the POTUS.

The UK police later revealed that around 5,000 people attended the protest rally in the capital with signs and banners reading "Trump not welcome" and "Go home, Trump not wanted here." The evening before his visit, images of Trump and American financier Jeffrey Epstein were projected on Windsor Castle.

The convicted sex offender was found dead in jail in 2019, and questions surrounding Trump's relationship with him have been making headlines in the US.

While dish after dish did not surprise Trump, the unfriendly guest, media Mogul Rupert Murdoch, known as the kingmaker in British politics, 94 years old, and Trump have been at odds with each other over the Epstein case. Trump sued Australian-born media magnate Murdoch and the Wall Street Journal for $10 billion in June over the publication of an article about him and the late Epstein.
