US President Donald Trump said Israel is facing the risk of losing all diplomatic and military support from Washington if it moves ahead with the West Bank annexation plan.
“It will not happen, and he will not allow Israel to make a move on this plan, as he has given his word to Arab and Muslim majority leaders during a recent summit,” he said.
"Israel will lose all of its support from the US if that happened," Trump said, adding, "I told (Netanyahu): 'You can't fight the world.'" I stopped him because he would have just kept going.” The US president also said that he plans to visit Gaza at some point.
Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance slammed a bill in Israeli parliament on annexing the occupied West Bank, adding he was personally insulted by the ill-planned move.
"It was a very stupid political stunt," he said upon his departure after a visit to Israel. Vance, in an angry tone, said, 'The US will not allow Israel to annex the land in the West Bank, and the position on the matter remains unchanged.
Besides, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, where both sides discussed the implementation of Trump’s plan for the region.
In his post on X, Rubio said his visit was to "reaffirm America's unwavering commitment to Israel's security", as well as "engage with partners" regarding Trump's peace plan, which Rubio called "historic" on his X account.
Further, Hamas and Fatah, the two major fighting groups in Gaza, are holding meetings in Egypt to discuss "arrangements after ending the war in Gaza" as part of the second phase of US President Donald Trump's plan.
