US president Donald Trump has ordered a probe into former President Bill Clinton’s alleged ties to the late sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump has ordered law enforcement agencies to investigate links between the disgraced financier, Epstein, and Clinton, in what is being seen as a way to deflect attention from Trump’s own ties to the sex trafficker.
Posting on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said he would be asking the US Attorney General, Pam Bondi, and the FBI “to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s involvement and relationship with Bill Clinton”.
Trump claimed Clinton and several other men from his administration spent major portions of their lives with Epstein and on his infamous island where he is known to have brought in trafficked underage girls.
While the Republican Party has been trying to implicate Clinton in the alleged sex scandal, investigators have so far found no evidence to back these claims.

Epstein, before his alleged suicide in prison, had also testified that Clinton had never visited his notorious private Caribbean island.
“The emails accessed by the investigators also confirm that Bill Clinton knew nothing,” said a Clinton spokesman.
“The rest is noise meant to distract from Trump’s election losses, backfiring shutdowns, and who knows what else,” he added.
Questions about Trump’s friendship with Epstein have dogged President Trump since his return to the White House in January this year.
The 79-year-old president has often accused his political opponents of pushing an “Epstein hoax” after emails emerged in which Epstein suggested Trump “knew about the girls” and spent hours with one of the victims at his house, claims that Trump denies.
Epstein committed suicide in prison in 2019, before he could face trial on sex trafficking charges involving the exploitation of underage girls.
