Donald Trump’s Turnberry golf resort in Scotland has reportedly been vandalised by pro-Palestinian activists in protest against his proposal to relocate Palestinians from Gaza and transform the region into a luxury tourist destination.

The group Palestine Action, which claimed responsibility for the act, described it as a response to what they termed as "the US administration’s hidden plans and threats to destroy, ethnically cleanse, and ‘take over’ the Gaza Strip."

Videos released by the activists depict the words “GAZA IS NOT FOR SALE” painted in bold white letters across the golf course greens.

"Whilst Trump attempts to treat Gaza as his property, he should know his own property is within reach," the group wrote on social media platform X.

Additional images posted by the activists show slogans such as “Free Gaza” scrawled in red across the clubhouse. The group also claimed that their actions led to the complete shutdown of the golf course.

A spokesperson for Trump Turnberry condemned the act as a "childish, criminal act" and maintained that the resort’s operations would remain unaffected.

Meanwhile, Scottish police confirmed that an investigation is underway.

Last month, Trump had floated the controversial idea of relocating Gaza’s population to neighbouring Arab countries, allowing for the region to be redeveloped.

He envisioned turning the enclave into a tourist hotspot, referring to it as the "Riviera of the Middle East", while proposing the mass displacement of more than two million Palestinians.

Trump had also released an AI-generated promotional video titled "Trump Gaza", depicting a luxury resort featuring himself, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and tech billionaire Elon Musk.

The proposal has been widely condemned by Arab nations, with regional leaders warning that "any such move would put oil on the fire in the region."

Following Hamas’s October 7, 2023, assault on Israel—which resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,145 people, mostly Israeli civilians—Gaza has suffered extensive devastation due to Israeli military operations.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, more than 48,000 Palestinians, primarily civilians, have been killed since then.

The destruction has rendered nearly 70 per cent of northern Gaza’s buildings either damaged or entirely obliterated, turning vast sections of the enclave into an uninhabitable wasteland.
