US President Donald Trump has demanded stricter and harsher conditions in the proposed peace deal framework with Iran, particularly concerning the country’s enriched uranium stockpile. While Trump has repeatedly claimed that a deal was in the final stages, there has been little concrete progress on the ground due to his inconsistent and back-and-forth demands during negotiations with Tehran.
US media reports suggest that Trump has pushed for tougher terms in the potential memorandum of understanding that his envoys will present to their Iranian counterparts. However, specific details of the changes demanded remain unclear.
It is evident that the US is dissatisfied with elements related to the unfreezing of Iranian assets, aiming to keep pressure on Tehran during talks.
In his latest interview, Trump warned that if Iran does not agree to the terms — especially regarding uranium — the US could “finish things off militarily".
He once again repeated his claim that the US military had already achieved its objectives against Iran but deliberately left portions of Iranian military infrastructure intact, describing parts of it as "moderate".
While the two sides continue diplomatic negotiations, Israel’s invasion of southern Lebanon has drawn widespread international condemnation.
Israeli forces have crossed the Litani River under the cover of the US-Iran talks, raising concerns that the operation is aimed more at land acquisition than solely targeting Hezbollah.
Such moves are considered illegal under international law, and despite the ongoing diplomatic efforts, Israeli actions in Lebanon appear to have intensified.
