Former US President Donald Trump has taken aim at Barack Obama again. Just days after accusing Obama of election fraud in 2016, Trump shared a fake AI-generated video showing Obama being arrested by the FBI inside the Oval Office.
The video, posted on Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, quickly went viral and received strong criticism. Many called it 'provocative,' and one person said it was meant to distract people from the Jeffrey Epstein case. The video was made using deepfake technology. It begins with Obama saying, “No one is above the law,” followed by clips of Democratic leaders, including President Joe Biden, repeating the same line.
Then, in what appears to be a jab at Democrats, the video displays a clown rendition of the Pepe the Frog meme. After that, it depicts Trump grinning as he watches Obama being handcuffed and taken into custody by FBI officers. Later, Obama appears wearing an orange prison uniform behind bars.
This video comes after Trump’s former Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, accused Obama of trying to block Trump’s 2016 win. She said newly revealed documents show that Obama’s officials created and used false intelligence to claim Trump’s victory was helped by Russia. Gabbard, along with Trump, is now calling for Obama and top national security officials to face legal action.
Interestingly, earlier this year, Trump and Obama were seen chatting politely at former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral. Photos of their conversation were widely shared, and Trump later said, “We probably like each other.”
