Trump says Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu knows “who the boss is” on Iran as Tehran hit back with a sharp response amid rising regional tensions.

The US President Donald Trump has reportedly told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to understand who the boss is when it comes to Iran and the West Asia region.

“We get along very well. Netanyahu knows who the boss is,” Trump said in a fresh interview that aired on Saturday night, allegedly referring to himself.

The Israeli prime minister is set to visit Washington later this month. However, Israeli officials said the visit could take place after a week. The Israeli prime minister’s office had said earlier that the two leaders had spoken by phone and that they “agreed to meet soon” in the US.

The visit will be his first to the country since the start of the war with Iran in February this year, when he reportedly presented the plan for launching the attack on Iran.

Later, a rift between President Trump and Netanyahu surfaced publicly when Trump was told by his advisers that he had been misled by the Israeli prime minister and mistaken about everything.

On Sunday, the Iranian embassy in Armenia issued a statement responding to Trump’s latest comments, in which it claimed that the US would not fire any shots during the multiday funeral for Khamenei.

He was quoted as saying that the US can take out everyone attending the event, but then calmly repeats, “there will be no one left to negotiate”.

He also expressed surprise at Iranians crying at the funeral, saying he thought people hated Khamenei. Further, the Iranian embassy in Yerevan said on X, “People can be killed, but ideals cannot. You killed Ayatollah Khamenei, but in reality, you broke a perfume bottle whose scent spread every place. You don’t understand these things because you have neither civilisation, nor history, nor honour.”

Iran has also vowed not to fire any shots during the processions, demanding everyone respect the country’s sovereignty at all times.
