Supreme Court asked to permit Trump National Guard deployment.

The Trump administration has urged the US Supreme Court to allow it to deploy National Guard Troops to the Chicago area, after a federal court ruling rejected its move to do so earlier this month.

The showdown between the Current ruling Republican government and opposition Democrats has intensified as Trump keeps pushing the National Guard troops to states governed by Democrat lawmakers.

The US Justice Department filed an emergency plea on Friday, after a federal appeals court ruled against the deployment of the troops to Chicago on Thursday.

Solicitor General D. John Sauer, representing the government, said in the court that the order blocking the deployment of the National Guard "improperly impinges on the president's authority and needlessly endangers federal personnel and property."

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker said in his post on X that, after the Trump administration’s request, he would continue to resist the move and defend the sovereignty of his state.

“Deploying military to communities against their will is not only against the constitution but also an un-American move to undermine our democracy,” he said.

Meanwhile, there are fair chances that the US Supreme Court might allow Trump’s idea of deploying the National Guard to Chicago due to higher crime rates.

Pritzker previously said, "This is not about fighting crime. This is about Donald Trump searching for any justification to deploy the military in a blue city in a blue state to try to intimidate his political rivals."

The US Supreme Court has a 6-3 conservative majority, and Trump has often turned to the high court when the lower federal courts have ruled against his administration's decisions.
