Ukrainian forces launched dozens of drones across multiple locations inside Russia on Sunday night and early Monday morning, despite calling for direct peace negotiations with Putin. Russian sources informed reporters that 13 drones headed toward the Russian capital early on Monday morning.
Though there were no casualties reported, according to the governor, Yury Slyusar, one drone managed to hit the old control room of a railway station.
The Russian Ministry of Defence said a total of 43 drones were reportedly downed in less than four hours between 8:00 pm and 11:30 pm on Sunday across the Bryansk, Oryol, Kaluga, Belgorod and Moscow regions.

Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defence has called these terrorist attacks deliberate and aimed at sabotaging the upcoming third round of negotiations in Istanbul.
In response, the Russian forces also carried out a series of coordinated drone and missile attacks on the Ukrainian forces in the South of Odessa as well as the north-eastern Sumy region.
Russia and Ukraine held two rounds of direct peace talks in Istanbul during recent months, but the negotiations were stalled in June after Kiev dismissed Moscow’s peace proposals.
Authorities in Moscow later declared the process as “exhausted” and indicated it had only taken part in it to avoid appearing dismissive of US President Donald Trump’s diplomatic initiative.
These latest attacks were carried out hours after Zelensky demanded a direct face-to-face meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
