The UN Security Council has voted to adopt a resolution endorsing US President Donald Trump’s plan to end all hostilities in Gaza. Besides the implementation of phase two of the ceasefire, the adopted resolution seeks the disarmament of Hamas and the deployment of an international Stabilisation Force (ISF) in Gaza.
The Trump administration’s plan to govern Gaza secured the approval of 13 nations at the UN, with only China and Russia abstaining. However, Hamas has once again expressed its disapproval, with the group saying that the resolution does not meet the "Palestinian people's political and humanitarian demands and rights."
US President Donald Trump has welcomed the UN Security Council's move to adopt a resolution backing his peace plan for Gaza.
In his Truth Social post late on Monday evening, Trump wrote, "Congratulations to the world on the incredible vote of the United Nations Security Council, just moments ago, acknowledging and endorsing the BOARD OF PEACE, which will be chaired by me and include the most powerful and respected leaders throughout the world."

He added that a much-needed resolution will certainly “lead to further peace all over the world." Apart from thanking those nations that voted in favour, Trump also thanked veto-wielding abstaining members, including China and Russia, for not vetoing the proposal.
Meanwhile, Hamas has rejected the United Nations Security Council's passing a Washington-drafted resolution endorsing US President Donald Trump's Gaza plan.
Hamas said the proposal fails to meet Palestinians' rights and demands, adding that the plan seeks to impose an international trusteeship over the Gaza Strip. "Assigning the international force with tasks and roles inside the Gaza Strip, including disarming the resistance, strips it of its neutrality and turns it into a party to the conflict in favour of the occupation," Hamas said in a statement on Tuesday.
