The United States and Russia have agreed to hold third bilateral talks in the fall on issues related to the functioning of their embassies, visas, and diplomatic property, confirmed the Russian foreign minister.
Lavrov said, “Our dialogue on visas, the functioning of embassies, this (Russian diplomatic property confiscated in the US), and other aspects of the day-to-day functioning of our diplomatic missions is ongoing.”
“We already engaged in two rounds of negotiations, and during the previous meetings with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, we agreed to hold a third this fall,” he said.
He said that two countries have expressed interest in working together where their national interests overlap. “The two countries do not have too many common points to agree on, though when there are few, it would be foolish not to use the circumstance to implement some joint, mutually beneficial projects,” he said.
