US launched fresh strikes on Iran after two American troops were killed in Jordan.

The United States launched a fresh and intense wave of airstrikes on Iran following the killing of two American service members in a Jordanian base. President Donald Trump expressed sorrow over the loss of the military personnel and reiterated that “Iran will never ever have a nuclear weapon.”

On Sunday, up to six missiles were reported to have struck targets in Iran’s Qeshm region. Bridges, oil facilities, and other public infrastructure have been left in ruins following the latest escalations. US has so far avoided targeting Iran’s water facilities and other critical civilian infrastructure — actions that would be considered war crimes — but officials have not ruled out such strikes in the coming days if Iran continues to target desalination plants in neighbouring countries.

Two US service members were killed, and one remains missing after Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks in Jordan on Friday, military officials said. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed four US service members were medically evacuated to Jordan hospitals but have since been discharged. Others who had minor injuries have returned to duty.

Several Iranian soldiers linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have been killed in the strikes, with reports of civilian injuries as well.

Negotiators, including representatives from Pakistan and Qatar, have attempted to bring both sides back to the negotiating table, but no significant progress has been reported so far. The situation across the region remains extremely fragile, with the threat of an all-out war looming over several countries in the Middle East.
