United States has bombed Iran for the second straight day after multiple Iranian attacks on US bases and Gulf allies, despite the signing of the Memorandum of Peace last week. The Iranian attacks were reported across Bahrain and Kuwait, while US Forces Central Command said it targeted the cities of Sirik, Bandar-e Lengeh, and Qeshm Island following a drone attack on a commercial vessel near the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran, on the other hand, said it launched retaliatory attacks on US forces in Bahrain and Kuwait and warned of a crushing response to further attacks.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has accused Iran of violating the Memorandum of Understanding between Washington and Tehran and threatened to “militarily complete the job”. On the other front, Israel has bombed southern Lebanon, killing at least one person, just a day after signing a framework agreement with the Lebanese government to end hostilities.
A US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, has told reporters that there were no US casualties, major impacts, or damage to US bases in the two Gulf nations.
However, the situation is unfolding fast on both the Iran-US and Israel-Lebanon fronts.
The IRGC claimed attacks on the Ali Al Salem airbase in Kuwait and the US’s Fifth Naval Fleet at Port Salman in the Bahraini capital, Manama.
Furthermore, Hezbollah has rejected the framework agreement on ending the conflict in Lebanon between the Israeli and Lebanese governments.
