The controversy surrounding the influential real estate sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has intensified after a prominent US media outlet has once again alleged Trump’s role in the scandal that has shocked the country.

The report on Thursday revealed former US president Bill Clinton wrote a personal note for disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s 2003 birthday album. The report comes after the media outlet was banned from the White House on the orders of Trump after it had claimed that he was involved in one of the cases.

Epstein died in 2019 in a Manhattan jail while awaiting trial on new sex-trafficking charges. The US authorities had arrested him on charges of exploiting underage girls with his billionaire friends. As per the report, the album compiled for Epstein’s 50th birthday included a handwritten message from Clinton: “It’s reassuring, isn’t it, to have lasted as long, across all the years of learning and knowing, adventures and [illegible word], and also to have your childlike curiosity, the drive to make a difference and the solace of friends.”

Billionaire Leon Black, fashion designer Vera Wang, and media mogul Mort Zuckerman were also among the high-profile figures who contributed messages to the album, the newspaper said.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Clinton did not comment on the matter, though he told reporters that the former president had cut ties with Epstein long before his conviction in 2019. Last week, WSJ reported that the same album included a letter from President Donald Trump featuring a drawing of a naked woman. Trump responded with a defamation suit.
