Dushyant Chautala in a recent interview has said that his party, Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), and its ally partner for the Haryana Assembly elections, Azad Samaj Party is aiming at fulfilling key promises. 

 

Talking about the shattered 'Chautala clan', Dushyant further added that he is not ‘Chacha Pidit’ and stays away from family politics. 

 

He also highlighted the development work carried out in the state including returning all farmer’s money and providing 14 crops on MSP in Haryana. 

 

Chautala is contesting from the Uchana assembly and it will go to polls on October 5 with the counting of votes scheduled for October 8. 

 

Is there a key to defining Haryana’s future outcome?

The election has just begun, and hard work is the only key, as politics is filled with ups and downs, my partnership with Chandrashekhar Azad is the key, and we are going to win. 'Chabhi bhe humari and tala bhe hamara'. 

 

In 2019, you fought against Congress and BJP, and then suddenly at random midnight, you met Amit Shah, and the alliance with BJP was announced?

It wasn't planned, JJP went with BJP for the wellness of the state. At that time we found stability with the BJP. So we decided. 

 

Will you go with BJP this time?

Have you seen their numbers? Bihar CM Nitish Kumar handled RJD and BJP together, he learned politics from Haryana. And I am not talking about switching places, I want that the promises I have made to the public are fulfilled. So, whichever party will help me with that goal, I can choose that. 

 

In 2019, you were new, you secured 15% votes by winning 10 seats.  Now there are only 3 people left. Plus, six months before the election you stepped back from BJP, and now you are in an election fray with ASP,  where is the credibility?

It has been 10 years in electoral politics for me and 5 years I have been MP, I am still young. I haven't given betrayal to any party. I have supported the BJP for 7 years in their ups and downs. Is that not credibility? And if we talk about changing alliances, it is a very common thing for regional parties. I haven't betrayed anyone. 

 

And please note my credibility through my work. Have I not paid the farmers of the state in two days? Has any state done that? 14 crops are being given on MSP, please don’t question my credibility.

 

It is true that in the farmer’s protest, I should have resigned but now, I understand, I am just 36 years old, and maybe when I will be 76 years old I will make better decisions. 

 

If I would have quit at that time, there would have been no JJP. 

In the Wrestlers protest too you kept quiet, now you are facing a direct contest with Congress and BJP, what do you have to say about that?

Please don't compare me to Deepender Hooda, I am not him. His father ruined the state congress just so that his son could enter the electoral fray. Family Dynamics is something that I stay away from. Plus, please acknowledge what they have done to Sirsa MP Kumari Selja.

 

The words they use for women in their rallies are deplorable. For instance, Virendra Singh’s comments on women are horrific, he mentioned that women with time turn infertile, JP Nadda said that they only do make-up. Just look at the thoughts. 

 

In the wrestler's protest, it was all handled by New Delhi, and the organisation with which the protest was held, is it based in Haryana? No, I made my thoughts very clear at the moment, and I said that a fair and just investigation must be conducted, and this is what the Supreme Court said. 

 

And, almost 5 years ago, Vinesh Phogat’s knee surgery was helped by only one organisation and that was Indian national students organisation which is the student party of JJP. 

 

Now, I want to ask, Where was Deepender then?

 

You said Bhupinder Hooda ruined Congress in Haryana, this is the same allegation that you are facing from your uncle, Abhay Singh Chautala and grandfather Om Prakash Chautala, that you are solely responsible for clearing Chaudhary Devi Lal’s party in the state. What do you have to say about that?

Fifteen days ago I was asked this same question, and I said Abhay Singh Chautala is a non serious politician. I didn't leave the INLD, does the party have any proof that I quit, and in 2018, Ajay Singh Chautala, my father was thrown out. 

 

And that is how a new party with a new symbol, JJP was found and we chose ‘Key’ as our symbol, and we will do so much hard work that this symbol will become the nation's symbol. 

 

Congress has alleged that there is a 20-21% Dalit vote bank in the state and that is why you have allied with ASP to have a hold on those votes, what is your say on that? 

Two months ago you called me Jat, and now Dalit angle is here, please note that, me and Chandra Shekhar Azad are 36 years old. Please think of us as youngsters, and think of the youth in the country, from us they are getting vision. 

 

There are rumours that your division from BJP is part of the strategy, led by the Home Minister? 

Do you even know that last time I met the Home Minister? In January, the home minister had a program, and that was the second to the last time I met him. I shared the stage with him and then I met him the night before Khattar left the CM seat. Now at that time, we could not come to a consensus on seat sharing. And then we decided to part ways. 

 

Now, Congress says that our alliance with ASP is not a fixed match, now I ask you who wants to share their vote bank with any other party. Plus, they should focus on what their candidates are doing. 

 

I strongly feel Kumari Selja should be a CM face. Please look at Hooda’s political career. All the electoral contests were fought by Bhajan Lal and then Hooda became the CM, because he was party president. This has been happening in Congress in Haryana for a lot of while. 

 

And about defections, It is very usual case in regional party, I still remember N. Chandrababu Naidu protesting in Delhi from Andhra Bhawan. Now, I don’t see any of the leaders from that time in the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

 

You have been selecting candidates for your party, what is the criteria for selecting the candidates? 

This question must be asked from someone, whose party is decades older. My Party, JJP, is just six years old. But, if I have to tell you, it is all measured, communities that form the major vote bank decide the candidate. In Haryana, we have area-specific villages which form a combination of six villages and that also form part of criteria. 

 

What are your thoughts on PM Modi and BJP in the state?

In 12 days you will see where the BJP was, and where it has come down to. And, he turned 75 on 17 September. I believe he should think of leaving his seat and allow some newcomers. 

 

‘Chavha-bhatija ladayi’ is so common, like, Akhilesh - Shivpal, Chirag Paswan-Pashupati Paras, and yours have been going so far. What do you say in that?

It is not my personal fight (ladayi), it's all political, I am not Chacha Pidit.
