Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday attacked Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren for allegedly not fulfilling its promises to provide 5 lakh jobs and said that the people of the state are ready to oust the JMM-Congress government from power.
Addressing a public meeting at Barhait in Sahebganj district in support of the party's Barhait seat candidate Gamaliyal Hembrom and Dhanbad constituency candidate Raj Sinha, Singh said if the BJP returns to power in Jharkhand, Barhait will be made a sub-division.
"Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren should be ashamed, as he has done nothing for the development of the state... Elections give you a chance to teach Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren a lesson,” Chouhan said in Sahibganj.
Targeting the Hemant Soren-led government for not fulfilling the promises to provide five lakh jobs, Chouhan said, “Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren had promised five years ago that he would give five lakh jobs, but no one got a government job... BJP and PM Modi always do what they say... People are ready to oust the JMM-Congress government from power.”
Singh also held a roadshow in support of saffron party candidate Navneet Hembram in Maheshpur assembly constituency of Pakur district and claimed that a wave for change is sweeping across Jharkhand and people have made up their minds to "oust corrupt" JMM-led government.
"Mothers and sisters are not safe under the Hemant Soren-led regime as the government is patronising Bangladeshi infiltrators, who are grabbing tribal land and playing with the dignity of tribal women," Singh said.
He asserted that a wave for change was sweeping across Jharkhand, and the BJP will form the government in the state with a two-thirds majority.
Earlier today, Assam Chief Minister and BJP co-in-charge for Jharkhand elections, Himanta Biswa Sarma, said that campaigning has been good and the people want a double-engine government in the state.
“We spent the last 4 months in Jharkhand. People are very excited for PM Modi. People want a double-engine government. There should be development in Jharkhand and the ambitions and aspirations of the people be fulfilled—this is the major theme of the election. People are excited about that,” CM Sarma said.
