1,389 Agniveers including 214 women pass out from INS Chilka

INS Chilka Celebrates Passing Out of 1,389 New Agniveers.


On Friday, a notable ceremony at INS Chilka marked the passing out of 1,389 Agniveers, including 214 women, from the Indian Navy. This significant event was graced by Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, the Chief of the Naval Staff, who reviewed the Passing Out Parade.

 

The parade was conducted under the guidance of Vice Admiral V. Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command, with Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Naval Command, also in attendance.

 

The ceremony was a proud moment for the families of the Agniveers, who came to witness their loved ones embark on their new journeys. Distinguished veterans and notable figures such as Omkar Singh, a gold medalist in shooting from the 2010 Commonwealth Games, were present to honour the occasion.

 

During his address, Admiral Tripathi congratulated the new graduates and emphasised the Navy’s core values of Duty, Honour, and Courage. He encouraged the Agniveers to uphold these values as they move forward in their careers, stressing the importance of continuing their training and becoming adept in technological advancements as sea warriors.

 

The Chief Guest presented medals and trophies to recognize the exceptional achievements of several Agniveers. Vinay Maruti Kadam and Sanjana were awarded the Chief of the Naval Staff Rolling Trophy and Gold Medal for Best Agniveer SSR and MR, respectively.

 

Sakshi Mohan Mirje received the Gen Bipin Rawat Rolling Trophy for Best Woman Agniveer, reflecting her outstanding performance. Additionally, Ashish and Yuvraj were recognized as the best trainees in their respective courses.

 

This ceremony not only celebrated the accomplishments of the Agniveers but also highlighted the ongoing commitment of the Indian Navy to training and developing skilled, technologically proficient personnel. As these new Agniveers step into their roles, they carry forward the legacy of dedication and excellence that the Navy upholds.
