Delhi Education Minister Atishi announced a significant milestone for Delhi government schools, revealing that over 1,400 students have qualified for the NEET-UG this year. This achievement marks a record-breaking success for the city's educational institutions.
Atishi shared these details during a press conference on Saturday, highlighting the remarkable progress made by Delhi government schools. "Breaking all previous records, 1,414 students from Delhi government schools have qualified for the NEET-UG exams," she stated.
This number represents a substantial increase from the 569 students who qualified in 2020, showing an almost two-and-a-half times higher success rate this year.
One of the key factors contributing to this success is the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar School of Specialized Excellence, a flagship project of the Delhi government. Atishi elaborated on the impact of this initiative, saying, "Dr. B.R. Ambedkar School of Specialized Excellence provides specialised training to students in different streams.
Of the 255 students from these schools who appeared for the NEET exams, 243 qualified, achieving a remarkable 95% success rate. This is an unprecedented success ratio compared to other schools and coaching centres nationwide."
The NEET-UG 2024 results were announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday. The NEET (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate) is a critical examination for students aspiring to enter undergraduate medical and dental courses across India. The test was conducted on May 5, and the provisional answer key was released on May 29, followed by the final answer key on June 4.
This year, a total of 67 students secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 1, including 14 female and 53 male candidates. The overall performance of Delhi government schools in the NEET-UG highlights the significant strides made in the quality of education provided.
The success of Delhi government schools in the NEET-UG exam is a testament to the effective educational reforms and specialised programs implemented by the state government.
These initiatives aim to provide quality education and training to students, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in competitive exams.
