Seventeen projects and initiatives from across the country have been selected for the National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) 2026, recognising innovative use of technology, artificial intelligence and data-driven governance to improve public service delivery, the Centre said on Thursday.
The awardees, chosen across seven categories, include flagship initiatives such as the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare’s “Agri Stack”, Uttar Pradesh’s “Mahakumbh 2025” project and Kerala’s Blood Bag Traceability and Citizen Interaction Portal aimed at promoting safe and voluntary blood donation.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, the annual awards seek to recognise and encourage excellence in the implementation of e-governance initiatives at the national, state and grassroots levels.
Among the notable winners is “TRINETRA”, an artificial intelligence-based video surveillance system deployed in the Mahakal Rudrasagar Integrated Development Area, including the Mahakaleshwar Temple complex in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. The system uses advanced technology to strengthen security and management in one of the country’s most prominent religious destinations.
The Ministry of Panchayati Raj’s Panchayat Advancement Index, described as a data-driven governance initiative aligned with the vision of a Viksit Bharat, has also been selected for the award. The project seeks to assess and improve the performance of rural local bodies through measurable development indicators.

The awards also recognise efforts to deepen digital governance at the grassroots level. One of the seven categories is dedicated to gram panchayats and focuses on expanding service delivery through digitisation and technology-enabled governance.
The categories for the 29th edition of the awards include Government Process Re-engineering through Technology for Digital Transformation, Innovation through Artificial Intelligence and Other New-Age Technologies for Citizen-Centric Services, Best e-Governance Practices in Cyber Security, and Digital Transformation through Data Analytics by Central Ministries, States and Union Territories.
The awards ceremony will be held during the 29th National Conference on e-Governance in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The government, however, has not yet announced the dates for the conference.
The National Awards for e-Governance are among the government’s highest recognitions for digital administration and public service innovation. Awardees will receive a trophy, a certificate and a financial incentive of Rs 10 lakh for gold winners and Rs 5 lakh for silver winners. The funds are intended to support further implementation of projects or bridge resource gaps in public welfare programmes.
The Centre said the awards reflect the growing role of technology, artificial intelligence and data analytics in improving governance and enhancing citizen services across sectors.
