The Delhi Police Special Cell announced on Friday that it had dismantled an ISIS module and apprehended two suspected terrorists who were reportedly receiving training for “fidayeen” (suicide) attacks, according to news agencies.
Both accused individuals, named Adnan and originating from Bhopal, were detained following precise intelligence leads during a joint operation conducted in Delhi's Sadiq Nagar and Bhopal, as reported by news agencies, quoting a senior police officer.
"Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were associated with ISIS and were in the process of planning a major terror strike in Delhi. Electronic devices and incriminating materials have been seized from their possession," the officer said.
Police stated that the suspects are undergoing interrogation to determine their network and the full scope of their intentions. "The arrests have averted a possible terror attack in Delhi," the officer added.

Early accounts suggested that a stockpile of arms and ammunition was recovered during the raid, and one of the detained suspects has been identified as Adnan. A senior officer disclosed that the operation was executed by a team under the leadership of additional commissioner Pramod Kushwaha and ACP Lalit Mohan Negi, as reported by national media.
The neutralised module is thought to be influenced by ISIS and could have connections to Pakistan’s ISI, which is alleged to run such operations while masquerading as the Islamic State.
Reports indicated that the operation remained in progress as authorities continued efforts to map the complete network and locate additional accomplices. The questioning of the two suspects persists, with agencies examining their schemes and potential ties to global terrorist organisations.
