More than 52 crore pilgrims have participated in the Mahakumbh 2025, taking a sacred dip at the Triveni Sangam. This milestone comes on the 36th day of the grand festival, which is set to continue attracting devotees from across the globe.
A massive surge in the number of devotees was evident at Prayagraj Railway Station on Monday, as thousands of pilgrims arrived in the city.
The authorities, including police officials and personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), have been working round the clock to ensure smooth crowd management and public safety.
The Director General of CRPF, G P Singh, visited the site on Sunday to assess the security measures in place.
Singh commended the "fine synergy" between the Uttar Pradesh Police, CRPF, and other agencies working to maintain order during the festival.
A post on the CRPF's official X account stated: “In Prayagraj, DG GP Singh assessed security arrangements for Mahakumbh, guiding CRPF officials on balancing vigilance with seamless public assistance.”
To ease the burden on transportation, Northern Railway has introduced special trains to manage the heavy passenger traffic.

These include services such as Train No 04420, departing from New Delhi to Prayagraj Junction at 7:00 PM, and Train No 04418, from New Delhi to Darbhanga Junction at 3:00 PM, among others.
These special services are designed to ensure a smooth travel experience for the pilgrims amidst the massive influx of visitors to the holy city.
Following the tragic stampede at New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday, which resulted in the loss of 18 lives and left several others injured, the authorities have intensified efforts to provide additional transportation options for the devotees, alongside bolstering safety measures at key railway stations.
With the Mela's peak still to come, the turnout at Mahakumbh is expected to reach even greater numbers as millions continue to flock to Prayagraj for the religious event, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many to bathe in the sacred waters of the Triveni Sangam.
